Whiten teeth with braces?!

Question: I just got my braces off, and now I have a permanent retainer (a wire glued to the back of my four front teeth.) My question is, will using whitestrips, like Crest Whitestrips dissolve the glue that keeps the wire glued on the back of my teeth? Or it won't do anything to the glue?

It's not really glue on the back of your teeth it is dental cement. You can use Crest White Stips, but remember to use an oral fluoride rinse after every strip, the hydrogen peroxide will cause sensitivity to your teeth.

I have had a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth for years and have used Crest Whitestrips several times. The strips have caused no problems to the retainer. My dentist was the one who originally told me to give the Crest Whitestrips a try - I don't think he would have recommended them if they would cause any damage.
