Only if your sure?!

Question:

Only if your sure?

well went the dentist months ago and the surgeon who had pulled my wisdom tooth out because it was rotted from the interior out; broke it off and the root remains ;although i have no pain and its been like 5 months is there potetional problems down the roaad and can i sue him?he said he would have a look my next tripback and see if there was a problem but i didnt go back and no pain ; but willpain eventualy come or even worse infection?

Answers:

sometimes that happens...the dentist probably chose to leave that root fragment because it has lesser risk that forcing to get it. don't worry, it will float in time and when that time comes, it can be easily pulled out. meanwhile, you have to live with that for as long as you're not having any problems with it (no pain, no infection). otherwise, you better go back to your dentist to have it checked.

regarding the potential of suing him, did you sign any consent form? usually it includes there that you understand the risks that goes along with it and some unforseen conditions that may arise that would call for the doctor's judgment. go check out the consent form if you have a copy. it would be a tool against you...especially after realizing that you suffered no other complications due to the surgery.

in my opinion, at the moment i don't see you have a problem with the root fragment...need not worry too much.
