where we live there is a dentist that takes payments they issue the patient a card kinda like a credit card if you can afford that ...also there is a prg in some states that help children without insurance so call the social services there and ask about this program it should help ...also if he is in school you might want to check there too because our schools here take the children who can't afford it to the dentist through school and it's paid for through them....check in the area and see if there is a dental school there we have one here on the campus at the hospital and they help with dental cheaper or free they charge on income bases because they also get the free on hands training or teaching for the students in dentistry classes ...there is also a program called the spin down program similar to the medical card but it is a bit different you can also ask the social services about it when you call it isn't as strict on the amount of income you have coming in ....some of our local Churches here also help when children are in need of medical or dental needs..also the Shriner's club if you have one there will try to help ...or you could call different Church's and bingo halls any organization that will donate to help you come up with the money to get it fixed ...i hope this helps good luck and try to get some of the medicine they use now to break that thumb sucking habit...ask you doc about this.

save your money

why is a kid that old sucking their thumb?
call your local department of health and human services and they can refer you to local clinics that offer low cost or sometimes free services.

As much as I hate to say it (because I know, who can afford it?) this is an emergency if it's indeed a permanent tooth. The sooner you get him and the tooth to the dentist, the better chance the dentist will be able to re-implant the tooth. He just might be able to save it. If you wait too long it might be too late. Call an after-hours number for a local dentist. Keep trying until you reach one. It's not something that can wait until tomorrow. And hopefully the dentist will work with you on a payment plan

good luck!

goggle for a Dental School in your area
their students work on a persons teeth for a lot less than a licensed Dentist would charge
they accept payments

Ask everyone you know, friends family whomever you think can help. Ask them to loan you the money. I think it is terrible that this country doesnt have altenatives when people dont have money. You can try getting credit through your family dentist, that is what i did when i didnt have money up front.

Depends on circumstances and other factors. How old is he? Might he be eligible for dental care via Medicaid, which covers some children, though only covers adults in some very specific circumstances.

Check for pro bono dental programs in your area, or even through local government. My county covers some dental for children.

Some dental schools offer discounted services.

You can buy some quite cheap dental insurance programs, most function like PPOS. I can send you some links if you can't find them by searching, depending on where you live. Even if they have a waiting period for pre-existing conditions, might be worth checking into.

You might consider bartering for dental services. Also some dentists now work with companies that let you work out long-term payment plans, allowing you to stretch out the payment over perhaps years.

You might check out if this might be covered under regular medical insurance if you have any. Sometimes dental expenses, particularly when related to disease or accident, can be covered. Perhaps they would consider this case to qualify as "medical."

You can check with your state's or county's dental board. I would probably also contact a local (state, county) elected official, like a county councilperson or state representative or senator, and have their constituent services check out what is available or might be made available for a child in this circumstance.

There might be charities of various sorts (religious, secular, etc.) that can help out with some or all of the cost. In Maryland they have a Pro Bono Dental program, for those who qualify.

You could contact a newspaper and tell them the story and they might run it, and this might prevail on some politician to do something or for private persons or organizations to come forth.

And, you could create a website and use it to do charitable fund raising for the dental expense.

Good luck and please keep us posted on what happens

Put the tooth under a pillow for the tooth fairy.
Call your local dentist and ask them.
