Do untreated baby cavities affect new teeth coming in?!

Question:

Do untreated baby cavities affect new teeth coming in?

my daughters baby teeth have had a few cavities which we had filled but now the fillings are thinning and her baby teeth are now exposed. She is 6 now tho and i was curious to know if she loses hew molars soon, will the cavities affect her new set of teeth coming through? Thanks!

Answers:

Baby molars are usually shed some time after 10 years of age.. If they are lost prematurely, the other teeth may drift and space in the arch for the permanent premolars to come in may be lost, resulting in crooked teeth.

That's why it's important to keep baby teeth healthy all the way up until their shedding.
