Retainer Help Please!!!?!

Question: I have been wearing my retainer for the last 5 months faithfully, and have had no problems with it. But today I took it out for about an hour and put it in my pocket(stupid I know). Anyway, when I put it back in, it felt very tight and is hurting my back teeth a lot. My retainer doesn't look bent to me, but maybe it is. Should I continue wearing it, or just not wear it and wait till my next orthodontist appointment in 2 weeks?

Sounds like you have swollen tissue around the back teeth. Leave it out for a day or two and see if you can tell a difference. But, in the mean time, call your orthodontist and let him know what is happening.

if it doesnt fit like it used to i wouldnt wear it. you could wait or call for an earlier appointment, i had to do that before.
