How long before teeth spread after one tooth was pulled out?!

Question: I had tooth #5 pulled out. How long will it take before the teeth spread in that gap and make it smaller?

I will not be able to have implants soon, so I am wondering how long will it last before the gap gets smaller.

I know no one would be able to give a definite time I am looking for an estimation only.

The answer lies with the condition of the gums and the jaw bone supporting your teeth. If they both are affected then the adjacent teeth will move within a span of about 2-3 years. If they are healthy then the adjacent teeth may remain in their place for quite a long time (more than 10 years) with only minor movement.

i had molar extracted 10 years ago and the gap has only closed a small bit, but i guess everyones mouth is different. one thing to bear in mind when you have a tooth pulled is that if the corresponding upper tooth has nothing to bite on it can begin descend into the void, so, an implant or bridge is a good idea.
