Wisdom Teeth?!

Question:

Wisdom Teeth?

I have a feeling I will be getting my wisdom teeth taken out soon. My sister has had hers removed as well as my parents. I was just wondering, I breathe through my mouth most of the time, Will that interfere with the work being done. Also, how long is the procedure.

I'm kinda nervous, so any encouraging thoughts would be great!

Answers:

I had mine taken out a few years ago and I was a mouth-breather (not anymore, since I had my septum straightened). Anyway, I was not conscious (IV anesthesia) and the breathing through the mouth was not a problem. It was so much easier than I had expected. If you are nervous, ask the oral surgeon to prescribe valium and you can take one the night before and one that morning. It makes you more relaxed and not nervous. It's really not that bad - especially if you like the doctor and if you go into it with a positive attitude.
