Question about a tooth?!

Question about a tooth?
I had a cavity filled about 3 weeks ago, the last couple of days I have noticed that tooth is very uncomfortable when I drink something cold or eat something sweet. I am going to call the dentist tomorrow, but is it possible for him to have not filled it properly, or what? He used the tooth coloured stuff, I don't know if that makes a difference.

If it was a deep filling then it is possible that the tooth was already going to give you problems. When a cavity gets deep near the nerve and a filling is done, the tooth can respond in several ways. It can be sensitive for a few days to a few weeks and then be fine, or it can (after a few days or weeks) turn bad. If the filling was done wrong in the first place, then you would have had sensitivity from day one and it would not get better OR worse. If it wasn't a deep filling, then your bite could be slightly off and a simple adjustment could make it better. Teeth are very complex and multiple things can be wrong at the same time - your dentists should be able to find the probem quickly though...good luck!
