First, congrats on your pregnancy! Second, I am so sorry you are having a serious toothache. Most dental offices welcome patients who are pregnant and who do not have insurance. When you find the dentist you are going to see, have your OB/GYN fax a letter to them letting the dentist know exactly what your OB/GYN feels is safe dental treatment for you and your baby. Please don't feel like you have to run out and get insurance in order to be able to see a doctor. Dentists love cash paying patients, and most of the time offer additional discounts if you are not using insurance b/c they HATE dealing with insurance companies. When you make your appointment, just ask how much a exam and xray of the tooth will be, and then when the doctor diagnoses what kind of treatment needs to be done, they will let you know the cost. If you are trying to get dental insurance on your own (outside a company offered plan), it usually is more expensive in the premiums that you will pay than the insurance will cover. Also, many dental plans have a "waiting period" where you will be paying for it, but they will not cover any treatment for 6 months to a year. Dental insurance only helps with the cost of dental treatment....usually pays 100% for cleanings and xrays, and 50-80% on everything else (fillings, crowns, extractions, etc). Don't worry too much about the pain associated with dental treatment, the dentist will make sure you are very comfortable before any work is done. They should make it painless for you. Hope this helps and you feel better soon! Good Luck =)

Go through the free health system dental section. (depends on what country you are).

If not, get insurance!!!

depending on what country you are from depends on whether you need insurance or not. if u live in england then pregnant women get free dental care whilst they are pregnant and for a year after too!!! dont know why but they jsut do.

Try to get insurance either through your job or the state. If that doesn't work some dental offices have a plan you pay anywhere from $150-300 for a year and they give you their discounted services. Hope you get some relief. Just make sure you go in case you have an infection.

I know this sound weird but my husband & I have discovered that vapor rub works great for more than just colds. If you rub some on the outside of your jaw where the tooth hurts it helps rid the pain. It works good for mucle rub too, read the lable.

Depending on the location of the tooth, you might want to get it pulled, its usually the cheapest alternative:(

Of course they will see you without insurance. However, you should check with your state/local health department and see if you qualify for medicaid. Some states now offer dental coverage to pregnant women that qualify. Most dentists do not want to work on pregnant women other than cleaning their teeth to treat gum disease and prevent premature babies. However, they don't want you to have an infection so they will probably give you some antibiotics. Call your OB and get a list of what medications they can prescribe you beforehand. They will want to give you antibiotics and try and get you by till you have the baby.

see u are 5th month pregnant so its second trimester so u cant take medicine... what ever dentist does root canal or extraction he is going to prescribe medication... so first try putting a cotton piece dipped in clove oil inside the tooth cavity it will give u immediate relief.. keep changing the cotton once a week.... pass one month and then u can get treatment done... in the meantime go for insurance.....

You should try and see if you qualify for Government Medical Assistance known as Medicaid. Most states pregnant women qualify, though I do not know what state you are in, MN is the best for this.
There are many dentists that are not set p for pregnant women so you should call them and see. In the meantime yu can go to the ER and they can help you with this.
Also, you should get a note from your OB/GYN that states that you are safe to get dental treatment, maybe she can even help you with pain relief. I hope that this helps you. Good luck!
