When i get braces will it hurt?!

Question: When you first get them, yes it hurts for a bit, You will not be able to eat solids without being uncomfortable for a couple of days while your teeth adjust. After that they do not hurt until you have them adjusted again. Then it shouold only last a day or two. The pain is well worth a beautiful smile, over the counter pain relievers should help with the pain. Also, you may experience some sticking, where your braces will rub against your cheeks, for this just apply dental wax to the site where it is rubbing and you should be good to go.. Hope this helps! =)

yes it will hurt

Yes =) But don't be scared. The pain's not unbearable, just very uncomfortable. You can take pain relievers.

it will kill the first day but after that it wont well mine didnt so idk

its really uncomfy!
like hardcore!
in the begining u cheeks r goin 2 get all cut up and ya its goin 2 hurt like crazy 4 the first couple days u get them tightened.
like u cant eat it hurts so much...
but after that its cool...
and when u get them off again it feels so weird!
ur teeth r all gooey and stuff
its weird

you will not feel a colossal amount of pain don't worry. It will feel uncomfortable. But before i got my braces i was scared, and being really scared makes it worse, so i just relaxed. Trust me when you are done you will think it wasn't as bad as you thought

Not while they are putting them on. They go on the outside of your teeth, and there is no drilling or anything. I am assuming you are getting real braces (not invisalign). When I got them, my mouth started to hurt hours after because your teeth are starting to move. It not terrible pain, just aching pain. Just take an over the counter pain reliever for it. The pain continued for a couple of days, and then went away completely. This is because your mouth gets used to the braces. It's really not that bad and it is SOOOOO worth it! People really notice teeth, esp. really nice ones.

You'll experience temporary pain. Your mouth anf teeth have to adjust to the feeling of the braces. I had braces for several years as an adolescent. The suckiest part is getting the wires tightened. It hurts to eat after that for a few hours. Other than that, it's not constant pain. You'll be fine.

It will hurt the first few days it varies for people. But it doesn't hurt when they are putting them on, but after a few hours they do cuz your teeth are getting used to the braces. But it will go away and then come back when you get them tightened and/or get rubber bands cuz the teeth and jaw are moving. Try taking pain relievers like Tylenol or Advil before and after you go to get them on. Also if you are having trouble eating, try eating soft foods on and w/ your molars cuz it doesn't hurt as bad as your front teeth do. Eating should also help the pain go away faster as it did for me. Good luck w/ your braces though.! =]

i have braces right now --
one hour before i took some advil and i got them on, and everything was fine, i got them on around 11am. when you get them on there's a 'pressure' feeling. i then got home around 2pm, and i was perfectly fine untill around 6pm..then when you bite down, it really just feels like a toothache. untill the next day, when you suddenly can't bite down. even the soft foods wern't very good. just rubbing my gums and using warm water and salt made it so much better, then i could eat.
don't worry though! i swear it gets better fast
