Is it normal to have gum and jaw pain after having a filling done?!

Question:

Is it normal to have gum and jaw pain after having a filling done?

I had the very last tooth on the bottom right side of my mouth filled from a cavity and after the numbing has worn off I'm still having pain in my left side jaw by the joint. And also having pain in the gum area behind my last tooth. Where my wisdom tooth should but, I don't have wisdom teeth because I had them pulled. Any advice?
Thank you!

I feel you girl!! I was just at the dentist today getting a filling. I hate it!!!!!!! It's normal..if they were a bit rough with you... I'm sure the pain will subside after a few days. They may have knicked your gums...depending on what treatment they used to do the filling and also which surface of the tooth had the cavity. I'm always sore leaving the dentist cuz they do a good job cleaning. You'll be fine... If it persists for more than 3-4 days, call them and ask them what's up with it.
