*reaching for trusty medical book*
it sounds like an 'aphthous ulcer', acute stress and allergies can be a major cause. mouthwash can help or a water barrier cream from the g.p. it should heal by itself if left alone though.
Hope it helps!

Too many sweeties!!

Sometimes a viral infection causes them. Rinse with salt water several times a day and it should help. They usually clear up on their own within a few days.

Bad diet and poor oral health can cause ulcers.

Food with alot of acids in it will cause them. I know tomatoes will cause them. Rinse with warm salt water.

You can get them if you have been a bit low lately or had a cold or virus

Also being a bit run-down and not in the best of health. I know they are painfull - try "bonjela" it will deaden the pain, tastes nice too.

brushing does not mean that you are taking care, the way of brushing and the time (at least 3') are very importante

some people get them when they are run down or lacking in iron. if you dont normally get them i would try a multi vitamin. if you get them regularly and i would say may your mother or father also gets them regularly

i heard its to do with stress...when my sister was getting married we had a huge wedding and i had 3 mouth ulcers one after the other....use boonjela, which you r....it shows its working when it stinks...also try custard powder thats meant to be quite good....!

Mouth ulcers, commonly called canker sores, are usually the result of a temporary increase in the acid found in a persons stomach. Your acid rise might be the result of the foods you are currently eating but could also be the result of stress which in and of itself might make you feel bad (run down). The immediate solution would be to take acid reducing medication (over the counter, lots of different types on the market) and rinse your mouth out several times a day with warm salt water. If you don't see improvement after a couple of days or if the number of sores in your mouth continue to increase you could have a more serious problem and should probably consult your family doctor.
