What are good home remedies for receding gums?!

Question: Gentle brushing is the best home remedy. That will just keep you from brushing more of them away; they don't grow back.

Some people are born with less "gum" than others, and your dentist can refer you to an oral surgeon for an evaluation if it's of concern. I had a gum graft a few years ago along my lower front teeth. The surgeon took a slice of skin from the roof of my mouth and grafted it to the gumline where I was thinning. It was as much fun as it sounds, but the new tissue won't wear away (it's a different kind of tissue and not as delicate), and I won't lose those front bottom teeth somewhere in my old age, because the roots are well protected now.

Gotta do whacha gotta do.

A dentist would say to start trying to brush on a downward stroke over your gums toward your teeth. Just do that all the time.

Brushing your teeth twice a day is a good start. The rest is in the hands of your dentist.

I had receding gums and the orthodontist told me to see an oral surgeon because my lips were pulling the gums away from my teeth. They had to cut the little things (known as frenums) that attach the lip to the gum line. My teeth and gums are awesome now.
