Is it possible to whiten teeth with baking soda/ hydrogen peroxide?!

Question: On a few sites i've read that you can either brush with baking soda or hydrogen peroxide (or both) to whiten your teeth in 2-3+ months. I'm just wondering if anyone knows from experience if that is possible and if there are any side effects to brushing with those.
My teeth aren't crazy yellow but they look like they're starting to change color so i'm trying to get a headstart on this before they become more yellow.

Yes. Most teeth whitening products have these ingredients in them. Don't waste your money. Swish with hydrogen peroxide before you brush every night. You'll notice a difference after about a week. Check out some of my "source" web pages below for extra tips.

You can use just baking soda and then brush with regular toothpaste until your teeth are the shade you desire. You can dampen your toothbrush with peroxide and then dip it in baking soda if you want faster results bit it is very harsh on your gums. I use baking soda on occasion to get my teeth whiter and I use Ultrabrite toothpaste daily because I find that it keeps my teeth whiter longer. The only side effects to using something like baking soda is that it works because it is mildly abrasive to your teeth which is what allows it to whiten them. That's why you should only use it for a period of time and then just use toothpaste. Extended use could weaken the enamel on your teeth. I know old timers in the family who only brushed with only baking soda and never had a problem. More than anything the judgment would be in your hands as to when enough is enough and when it is necessary. I have never had a problem with my routine, and it works very well for me.

I have tried baking soda and it's great. It whitens and makes my mouth clean.

However, Crest White Strips are the best. They really work. I have to do it once a year and I can really tell a difference. I totally recommend them. Goodluck!

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html
