Dogs teeth?!

Question:

Dogs teeth?

Can I brush my dogs teeth with regular toothpaste?
it's because I can't find his regular toothpaste.

Answers:

Toothpaste for dogs is very different than toothpaste intended for human use. Dogs obviously are unable to rinse their mouths and spit after bushing, so toothpaste intended for dogs is gentle on the stomach. It's available in tasty flavors such as beef and poultry, and once your dog becomes accustomed to brushing, he'll consider the toothpaste a flavorful treat.

So...
If your dog isn't used to brushing, introduce him slowly by letting him lick a little bit of doggy toothpaste from the tip of your finger. Once he finds out how delicious the toothpaste is, put a little on the toothbrush, and let him lick it off. After he's used to the feel of the toothbrush on his tongue, begin brushing his teeth. More than likely, he'll work at licking the toothpaste off the brush while you work on brushing his teeth, but you can apply more if necessary since it won't make him sick.
