Is this a cavity (see details)?!
Question: I have never had a cavity before, so I don't know what it would look like. There is a dark spot on the outside of one of my teeth. It doesn't hurt. When I put my floss rod up to it, it feels as though there is a hole. I just went into the orthodontist a week ago, and they didn't say anything. I just noticed it last night.
If it is a cavity, is it easier, and less painful to go see the dentist soon, rather than wait, or has it done its damage?

It is much easier to see a dentist now then later. A cavity would typically be a soft area that would cause pain when pushed into. The best way to know is by getting a bitewing x-ray of that area. Then go from there. Doesn't sound like a cavity, but I suggest you still make a visit to your dentist.

if it is a cavity then i would see a dentist now as its easier to repair now then when your whole tooth is rotted.
