Question: what is the diffrence between braces and a retainer?
ive seen people who got braces then when they get there braces taken off they get a retainer why?
or some people get their braces while having a retainer on also why?
or get a retainer than braces why?

I'm a dentist.
With little exception, braces do the moving, retainers "retain" your teeths' positions.
The reason orthodontic patients should wear retainers is because teeth can shift positions after orthodontic therapy.
As far as getting braces while having a retainer, I haven't heard of this. The braces are moving the teeth, so the last thing the doctor would want is something to prevent the teeth from moving.
