I have to get my wisdom teeth taken out..!?

My doctor told me I can either get a shot to be put to sleep, get 8 shots in my mouth to not feel pain, or be given "laughing gas." I really don't want to get a shot and be put to sleep for that long, so I was thinking about getting the 8 shots in my mouth. What sucks is that I would be awake during this, and I've heard you hear the noise, and wanted to know if anyone went this way and got the shots and felt perfect. Also, I heard that some were given the 8 shots and gas, not sure if that's always possible but wanted to hear of some opinions before tomorrow and stories of people who got it and with the shots of anesthetic in the mouth. I was asleep and my husband was awake.
For me, I didn't feel a thing. I went in with the teeth and out without them. The whole thing, all 4 out, 2 impacted, 2 fully in, took about 1/2 hour. I woke up groggy, like being woken up after too little sleep. I felt out of it for about 1/2 hour after and numb for about an hour or two but nothing too bad.
For my husband, he heard the whole all the drills and still sends chills up his spine. He cranked up the music all the way up but still heard it. And felt the doctor pulling to get it out. His recovery time was quicker though. After the procedure, he was numb but not groggy.
I'm glad I did it by sleeping though. Because when I sat in the chair, before sleeping, I was freaking out already. So I don't think I can handle being awake for it, lol. Good luck!
