Getting wisdom teeth out tomorrow, any tips?!

Question: I'm mainly concerned about the best way to go under, and about the pre-surgery fast. I can handle no food, but I get thirsty really easily and am kind of concerned about not being able to drink water.

I had mine out a couple of years ago and I was afraid of the same thing because my mouth is chronically dry. When you get up in the morning, just rinse your mouth out with water but don't swallow-just spit it out. I did it several times that morning(including on the car ride to the surgeon's office). You will be numb for several hours afterwards. Just make sure you have filled your prescriptions and take them as prescribed. They will give you a jaw sling wrap for icing it and be sure you ice it often, especially the first 24 hours. Have plenty of jello, applesauce, sherbet and clear soup for later in the day. Once you are allowed to add dairy, then ice cream, yogurt and pudding too. Follow the doctor's instructions as far as cleaning and salt water rinses. Most of all, relax and don't worry-you will be fine.

Be more concerned about drinking and then not waking up at all! Dont 4get to put them under your pillow for the tooth fairy!

relax, breath, it's going to be ok. getting there is the hard part, once you are there it will be over before you know it. relax.
