Retainers?!

Retainers?

I used to have a gap between my two front teeth and I got braces to correct it. I had them for 3 years and then wore a retainer for another year but I was supposed to keep wearing it forever, but I lost it and that was about 7 months ago. I am getting my gap back, and the orthodontist I went to told me I had to find a new doctor because I missed too many appointments(a whole other situation) but anyway, Is it likely that another orthodontist would let me be molded for a new retainer without giving me braces again? I could get my records from the other ortho if I had to.

Wow, you sound just like me! I've had a retainer for 8 months, but before that I had braces for 3 years, correcting a huge gap in my two front teeth. I know that even if I skip a night of wearing my retainer, my space starts to reappear.
Of course you'd be able to get a new retainer... there's nothing that states because one orthodontist won't do it, that another one won't spread his teeth-molding love and shower the world with one more gap-closing miracle worker. <3
