They might need to schedule another appointment to take some impressions, X-rays, or they might have time to do it that day. Next they will discuss everything with you and whoever is responsible for you (paying the bill). So in total, usually about 1-3 weeks.
ok well it depends are you going to a orthodontic or a med school? if youre going to a professional ortho it shouldnt take that long. if youre going to a med school it would take longer anywhere from days weeks to months. moslty depends where you go.
The dentist will take x-rays and impressions, and may ask you to come back to discuss a plan of treatment. After that, you can schedule an appointment.

when i went they wanted to pout them on the the first or second appointment,
but i had to many baby teeth so they said to come back in 4 months.
but if i lost all my teeth they would have been on the next appointment i think.
