Pain from Temprorary Crown?!

Question:

Pain from Temprorary Crown?

I had a temporary crown put on my tooth 5 days ago and i still feel pain. It isn't a big pain, but a nagging, constant pain. is this normal? I am heading overseas for a week and don't want this to ruin my trip. Thanks.

Answers:

No its fine. Its completeley normal. When the dentist preps your tooth for a crown she hits the gum purposly for a nice fit when the perm crown is ready to be cemented. I am a dental assistant and also had a temp crown and perm crown and it happened to me as well. It will b sore for a while its compltley normal. Best thing to do is rinse with warm salty water whenever you can. Also take advil, its best for oral pain
