Question:

Does the invisaline retainer hurt when you wear it.?

My friends told me that the invisaline retainer hurt her mouth so she never wore it so her teeth went back to the way they were before really bad. I dont want this to happen to me

Answers:

Your friend should have gone back to the dentist promptly to see what was wrong if it was hurting her. If the case fails, it's her fault for being non-compliant, not the dentist's.

Invisalign aligners should not hurt when you put them on. You will feel them pushing against your teeth for a couple of days every two weeks when you put in a new aligner, but not so much that it causes pain.

Orthodontic appliances (including invisalign) seldom puts more than 2 ounces of force on teeth-- That is the maximum amount of force most teeth can take without becoming traumatized.

Hope this helps.
