Am I too old to wear orthodontic braces?

I'm in college to become a dentist and I have crooked teeth. I don't think my patients will trust a dentist with crooked teeth. I'm 20 years old, what do you think I should do? I think I'm a little old to wear metal braces.

A lot of people are recommending invisalign. Is this much more expensive than metal braces?

I had them at 20 years old as well. It isn't too old, but they do say that the older you are, the slower the teeth move. They are more "set" in your jaw as you get older. So it might just take a few months longer, than if you had them on when you were younger. I have never regretted getting my teeth straightened. I was always rather self conscious of my teeth and having them fixed made a big difference for me. If I were you, I'd get them done now, rather than waiting even longer.

My braces took 2 years. If you keep ALL your appointments, and change the rubber bands, etc. when they tell you to, it will go by rather quickly.
