Not really HURT, but after about 12 hours I felt a lot of pressure. It wasn't painful, but it felt very uncomfortable. I swear, just take advil and when you wake up the next morning and you'll feel 10 times better! I swear, it's not as bad as people make it sound, and after 3 days you'll forget that you even have braces.

The process isn't all that complicated. They took the bracket and put some glue (any kind of adhesive) and put it on the tooth. They stuck the bracket (the metal part of the braces that stays on the tooth) on and shined a light on it to make it stick faster. The, they used this clasp to push hte wire through.

I remember how it immediately flet tight- you can really feel htem working! Luckily, I had tons of apple sauce, Ice cream and jello to munch on!

Hope this helps!

It hurts afterwards, because it's pushing your teeth to be straight. I used to have braces and it would hurt to eat. But you're teeth will get used to it and the the pain will go away and you'll have straight teeth.

i dont think they will hurt jus hav faith and put ur faith in gods hands

sorry but yes
i got braces
when they put the wire in, it tightens to pull you teeth together or back, so it hurts
it hurts more so the few hours-4 days afterwards
but then it doesn't
until they tighten the wire again

luckily it doesn't hurt to get them taken off =)

They don't hurt when they are put in. You just feel a lot of pressure. The cool thing is you get a 1 or 2 days off school cause you can't eat properly afterwards. The dentist recommends ice-cream..
i like having braces ill be sad when they go...
i get colours on mine lol

They just slide in the wire, it feels tight at first. It hurts after a while, depends how much your teeth have to move.

Not when they are going in, no. They attatch the brackets to each tooth then click the wire in between little grooves on the bracket. Afterwards it feels tight and achey, as your teeth are being pulled, but it eases off. After a few days you will be used to them and only really get pain when you go to have them tightened, again though its no for long untill you get used to it. Dont let people scare you, having braces was the best thing i ever done! Good luck x

Yes it will hurt and you wont be able to eat much solid foods. It is well worth it when you get older. The more you following the Doc instructions the faster you will have to wear your braces.

There's a good website called archwired, with lots of people's experience with braces. Fitting of braces is painless, although some people do experience some discomfort, as their teeth start to move, this can be relieved with over the counter pain killers. Ibuprofen is the best pain killer for this type of pain, ask your pharmacist if this is suitable. Any discomfort is usually short lived, most people find things improve after a couple of days. Some people have no pain at all. Good Luck.

No, but after a couple of hours your teeth are moving which can be sensitive to the touch
