CROWN Dilemma?!

Question: i need a crown on an upper premolar pretty urgently; i intend to have my teeth whitened at a later stage(cant afford 2 treatments at same time) would it be feasible to ask the dentist make the crown a few shades lighter to compensate for any future whitening treatments

i'm sure the doc can make it a little lighter, esp since it's not one you see very well when you smile.. so a few shades wouldn't be a big deal at all .. :) just let them know that that's how you want it because you will be bleaching at a later date.

I did this exact thing. I have an implant on a front tooth. I almost had it done and then realized that I wanted to start whitening and didn;t want the implant first and whitening later, because the implant would match the current teeth.

But if you need your crown now, yes perhaps you should go whiter. Fortunately you are not talking about a very visible front tooth like me, but yeah I would go a little whiter if the crown has to come first.
