When I Put my retainer in It hurts. Does this mean my teeth have moved and are m!

Question:

When I Put my retainer in It hurts. Does this mean my teeth have moved and are moving back in place?

I got my braces off in August

Answers:

Yeah probably. I can tell when my teeth have moved b/c my retainer feels much tighter/harder to get in and out of place than in the morning after I have worn the retainer all night and my front teeth move just a little. Since you just got your braces off, you will need to be wearing those retainers every night at least. It takes quite a while before all the bone in the mouth completely set back. I have had my braces off almost 10 years and I still have to wear my retainers sometimes b/c my two front teeth try to crowd a little when I go too long w/out wearing them and it hurts really bad in the morning only in that area.
