Should I have anathesia or local for tooth extraction?

The dentist says because he thinks the tooth will break and he will have to cut and drill the tooth out. And I still have some infection

Answers:

Mandibular block injections are somewhat difficult to do, and some dentists simply aren't any good at doing mandibular blocks. And I think that's where all the horror stories about extreme pain during extractions come from.

Me, I don't start a procedure until I'm sure the patient is numb.

If you went to a good dentist/oral surgeon who is good at administering local anesthesia, you should feel no pain during the procedure.
