Does anyone know the average price of a tooth implant?!

Question:

Does anyone know the average price of a tooth implant?

I found someone saying that there is a NY clinic that does tooth implants for only 500$ but here in Cleveland is 2000$.

Answers:

they seem to vary from about $650 to about $2000 per tooth. When it comes to something like this, I would spend as much as I possibly could afford, because you tend to get what you pay for. Check out the dentist's background. Also, discuss with the dentist what his or her proceedures are and the time frames involved. Be suspicious of those who gloss over the pitfalls or make statements that are too simplistic or who seem to be in a hurry. There are low cost finance plans available. Most insurance does not cover implants calling them "cosmetic" even though they are FUNCTIONAL. You can usually get covered for any related extractions but usually not for any other related proceedure. The cost of the actual implant may not be the only expense involved. If you need bone implants to support the implant it will be another cost. Some dentists may charge extra for the "abuttments" that attach at the gumline so that a crown can be attached. X-rays are probably extra and often a full mouth series and or a special cat scan type picture are often required. Finally, the cost of the crown is extra. The crown is often covered. Look around on the internet, there are some excellent sites that educate and give names of dentists. "Everyone" seems to be doing implants these days so it is a good idea to educate yourself and shop around. Get someone experienced. Depending on what you need, you may want someone experienced in other techniques as well, such as surgery; cosmetic dentistry; implantology or bone implants. Beware of "teeth in a day" claims. These "teeth" are only temporary and cannot be used much. They are temporary but add an additional expense. Sometimes people need a set of partial dentures while they heal. Also, Teeth in a day, often cannot be done, when additional proceedures are needed. There seem to be two systems of implants out there. One is called Branemark and the other is called Straumann.
