Crest whitestrips pain???!

Question:

Crest whitestrips pain???

I just started using it yesterday, I have the one you're supposed to stay with for 30 min twice a day. But yesterday when I applied the first strip, after about 20 min on my teeth I felt a weird, sharp pain in between one tooth, but it happens only in one single tooth, (lower) it's a weird sensation, like I have to stop whatever I'm doing cause it's so weird and sharp. What should I do? Should I stop using it?

Answers:

Normal to have sensitivity in lower front teeth especially b/c they are so thin. You can cut back to once a day or even skip a day if necessary. Sensitivity toothpaste will help, brush with no water, spit, Do Not rinse, eat, or drink for 30 minutes. If you do the ingredient will be washed off and not help calm the nerves. Also, when you finish brushing you can put some of the toothpaste on your finger and rub in the extra sensitive area for extra help. Ibuprofen/Motrin will help for quick relief. I find adding fluoride rinse that you use after removing the stips helps completely remove most post whitening sensitivity. Buy a fluoride rinse at the store, swish after removing white strips, of course you cannot rinse, eat, or drink for 30 minutes. Fluoride strengthens teeth and helps reblock/calm the nerve endings that are being exposed/irritated from the whitening.
