Getting braces..question..full details inside!?!
Question: OK...so..I'm 15 years old and am originally from india settled in newzealand about 6 years ago and when i went on a family trip to india late last year..My mum pressured me to get braces caz my lower jaw is not alined with my upper jaw and my the othodontist said that my lower jaw is way backward to what it suppose to be and he offered to remove 2 teeth in the quest to pull the upper teeth forward and because i'm from over seas he said that he wont pull my teeth and will just put the braces on and to get my teeth pulled in newzealand. So i went to an othodontist in newzealand and he said he will have to replace some of the braces and then offered a 2.5 year treatment for the cost of like $7000. So my mum said she will get it done in india caz it's cheaper and i will go again to india on november and will return like febuary so it's like 3 months.

Getting your braces done in india if you can't stay there for the full course of treatment is a very very very bad idea.
Firstly, the cost is not for the actual placement of braces, its all of the checkups and adjustments that follow. So even if you did it in india, your orthodontist in NZ will have to charge you to re-assess your whole case and plan your treatment as though it was a new treatment!.
Secondly, it is highly unlikely that your orthodontist in india, and your orthodontist in NZ would have the same ideals and aims for your treatment. So that would mean that there would be a large conflict of opinion when you get back and possibly huge modification of your treatment!
Thirdly..... There is no thirdly, just don't do it you would end up paying for it twice and you would be getting too much conflicting treatments. It sounds like you have a difficult case. If you want good results pay the full amount in a place where you plan to stay for the full course of treatment which could take a few years by the sounds of it. Don't compromise something which ultimately will affect your appearance, you are worth more than that!
PS... you would have the same problems if you started with one orthodontist in NZ and then moved to another one in NZ.
it doesn't matter where you get it done. as long as it's done by a othodontist with good qualifications, and he say's its ok for you to receive your regular check-ups by another othodontist.
Get it done in india first. Then have a check-up straight away when you get home to NZ. =D
it would be best to have in the place where you you will reside longer. Because adjustments have to be done monthly. I think you better do it in NZ as you will reside there longer. You will only visit india once then it will be useless if there will be no adjustment at all.
It is not advisable to have the braces for a long time too. and if you will have the next india adjustment after five years, the gained movement during the first pulling will relapsed. Thus you just wasted time and money. Better survey the best ortho with better price.
