Can you get retainers without having braces before?!
Question: ok..i have braces..and i need them..but cant i just get retainers instead.i dont care if i have to have them for a long time..id do oanything to not have braces!!!

Usually you have to have braces and then retainers. Or retainers and then braces, it all depends on your situation. There are invisible braces and braces that you can take in and out without having to visit the dentist. If I were you I would check with your dentist and see what he/she recommends. I have braces. No. Retainers help keep your teeth in place when they're straight...they won't fit unless they are straight.

They have a plastic thing that looks like a retainer but is for the treatment of braces.
braces aren't that bad and also once there off your teeth will look rly good and last that way
just getting a retainer without braces will just make ur teeth move when ur not wearing the retainer
well, in a way, but they call them spacers. it fits on your teeth, but it only spaces three to four teeth at a time. the braces are also used to help perfect your bite to lessen wear on your jaw.
i got a retainer without having braces first. but it doesn't do much and i really recommend getting braces. im a junior in highschool and have an over bite. they want me to get jaw surgery which requires me to have braces senior year AND my first year of college (i don't think im going to) i'll probably do it later! but do everything to aviod that situation and get braces over with you'll feel much better!
yes you can but most cases braces move teeth then retainers keep in place get braces there not bad at all
no unfortanatly you cant do that, but dont worry almost everyone gets braces sometime in their life and u may not have them as long if u do exactly what ur doctor says!!!

Invisalign (clear retainers that act as braces) work slowly, are more expensive than braces and are only used when someones teeth are slightly shifted/rotated/moved.
They are sometimes used after someone has had braces and teeth start moving. (not wearing retainer)
I would stick with the braces, considering you already have them on. It will be a waste of money to have them taken off.
Why dont you ask your orthodontist if he can change your front brackets to clear ones instead of silver? it will make them less noticable.

No, you can't, when it is time for you to get retainers you will get them after you get your braces off. The Retainers keep the teeth in place, if you have messed up teeth and have them your teeth will stay like that. But there is invisiline. Ask your orthodontist if you have any more questions.
