So if i go will i be put to sleep? (live in middlesrough UK). I assumed i would have to have injections. Also just looked on net and peoples faces look really bruised and swollen afterwards, does that happen often?

It's really not that bad. It depends on how your teeth are situated--if they're really deep in your jawbone, you're more likely to have bruises and swelling because it takes more prodding to get them out.
I was put to sleep, it was mandatory at my clinic. I suggest it; it was easy and not scary at all, I woke up with gauze in my mouth.
Just be sure you follow the aftercare instructions the doctor gives you so you don't get dry sockets--those are a pain. Good luck, it'll be fine, don't worry!
