What can be done with small gap in front teeth?!

Question:

What can be done with small gap in front teeth?

I have a thin gap between my two front teeth (approx 1.2mm), and although it doesn't effect me much, I really don't like it and think I'd look much better without it. Can I ask what can be done about this? I've searched google but can't find any trusting sources, many seem like spam sites.

I'm going to ask my dentist soon but would like to hear from you guys and girls first so I know what's available. I have a feeling my dentist will simply tell me it's nothing to worry about and to move on :(

Answers:

The small gap is called a Diastema. There are several choices you can consider to make a cosmetic difference.
Braces are an option, but if your teeth are straight already, this may not help. Porcelain veneers that are made in a lab are most likely your best option. Bonding may be a more temporary solution(composite bonded to your teeth to fill in the space but this will depend on the size of your front teeth and the Diastema). If you do decide to go with veneers please ask to see photos of the dentists work. The front teeth are difficult and rely on artistic interpretation of the Dentist. Get a few opinions. Good luck!
