Whitening toothpastes bad for your teeth?!

Question:

Whitening toothpastes bad for your teeth?

I recently heard from my dentist that using whitening toothpastes of any kind can wear down the enamel on your teeth. I was very concerned about this because my fiance already has a calcium deficiency problem and the enamel on his front teeth is very soft. Should we switch to a toothpaste that isn't specifically for whitening?

Answers:

The deal about whitening toothpastes is that sometimes they are a little harsh on the teeth. The thing that people do not understand is that it is not whitening like whitening gel whitens. Whitening toothpaste only help with stains so they are a little more rough.
