Your question is a bit like asking "How High Is Up?" Ask that of five people and you'll get five different answers. Each individual has a different feeling response to any dental appliance. In most cases there is an adjustment period in which the tongue has to learn that the appliance is going to stay there and of course there will be extra saliva for a couple of day's as the mouth learns the appliance isn't food so saliva for it's digestion isn't required...all in all you should adjust with out much distraction....For the first few day's keep a favorite beverage handy and sip on it regularly as that will give your tongue something to do other than explore the appliances...over exploration will make the tip of the tongue sore...Once it learns the appliance is going to stay there it will stop exploring.
they just feel a little weird at the start but then you get used to them ... are you getting them ??
