How soon after having a wisdom tooth on bottom right side of mouth pulled can I !

How soon after having a wisdom tooth on bottom right side of mouth pulled can I get a molar next to that fille

d or repaired? I am told by my dentist's receptionist (his wife), that they like to wait 4 weeks to do so. I have an indentation at the gum line of this molar and I think that is what is causing me pain at the moment. Should I seek out another dentist or is the receptionist correct? Seems to me if there is a problem there, a cavity, what have you, that I should have it taken care of before it gets worse? Is there a good medical reason to wait?

If I run my fingernail accross the recessed edge of that molar with slight pressure, I hit a spot that yeowwws!

I had the same problem. Also had my wisdom tooth take out. I had my veneers adjusted and the filling made within a week of taking the wisdoms out. She might have suggested to wait if you are in pain or if you need numbing. I didn't, the filling took only about 15 mins or less. I had recession there and the exposed bone was getting erosion from not having enamel there. Also pain from touching it w/a fingernail.
