Spacers and braces?? help??!
Question: does everyone who gets braces need spacers? my teeth are all gappy in the front top 6. i have "dainty" teeth and a big mouth so would i really need spacers?

Not everyone who gets braces needs spacers. That said, just because you have spaces up front doesn't mean that you have the space in the back that the orthodontist would need in order to fit bands on those teeth. It's just going to depend on "how you're built".
Also, some orthodontists don't use bands anymore. If the orthodontist is planning to bond brackets to your molars (the same way they do your front teeth) then you also wouldn't need spacers. That's up to the preference of the orthodontist, though. We still band back teeth in my offices because it's too easy (IMHO) to break brackets off of those back teeth. Bands hold up better.

it depends if your back teeth have enough for for the molar bands. i wore spacers. they really didn't hurt that bad they were only a lil bit sore.
spacers are usually for the back, larger teeth, to just provide space for the brackets to fit arount the teeth. They are just a little rubber band thing that they stretch, then put in between yoru teeth, then they contract, causing it to make enough space between the teeth for the bracket to fit around it. Why r u so worried about it? It ain't no thang!

well i got my spacers on thursday and they hurt when u just get them on you feel pressure but then it starts to where off
so dont worry but it matters if your backteeth havespace in them then no
no not everyone needs spacers. i have braces and most of my friends do too and none of us have spacers. you may need them. talk to your ortho to find out. good luck :]
