Braces and health of teeth?!

Question: R getting braces not good for your teeth's health/strength? Like they'll straighten them and make them look better but do they have any negative affects at all as well? Do they have any side-affects? Also, if im 15 turning 16 in a few months, is it too late to get braces?

There are many different types of braces. I was just at the orthodontist on Monday and he showed me several different models including one that looked like a clear plastic covering that is molded to your teeth-this was really cool because it can be removed for brushing and it doesn't look like you have braces at all.

Ask your orthodontist about the options and thier side-effects. My son is 17 and he is just about to get braces- it is not too late. Braces are important for the structure of your teeth and the health of your whole mouth.

Your never too late to get braces, my uncle has them and he is 48!

no i dont think its bad for them because so many people wouldnt be using them

naa its not too late better now when everyone has them then when your an adult and everyone has perfect teeth

there totaly worth it

Braces can lead to cavities. You have to floss really well and brush the gums because plaque buildup underneath the brackets will start to decay your teeth, and you could develop gingivitis. You can use a Sonicare toothbrush and not have to worry about flossing. My dentist told me that it's a fact that you never have to floss if you use the sonicare toothbrush because it's actually better than flossing. Braces are definitely worth it. I have braces and my teeth are looking great. You just have to brush your teeth at least twice a day and BRUSH THE GUMS! That's the major thing. And, no, it's not too late to get braces. You should get them. They're totally worth it. If you don't brush them everyday you can develop white spots on your teeth that won't go away after the braces come off. So if you brush your teeth and gums you should be fine and have beautiful teeth. Go for it. ;)

no, it's never to late to get braces. you'll be happy you had them especially if your teeth are really crooked. you have to brush and floss really well though because you can get gingivitis easier with them. the plague sticks around more with braces. floss, floss, floss even though its a pain with them on.

You are never to old to get braces I know people in their 40s got all that matter is the last result
