I have rubberbands on hooks with my braces?!
Question: They're medium-heavy so my mouth is restricted a LOT. I'm supposed to wear them all the time but it's just too hard! My mouth and jaw hurt 24/7 and I can't talk at all, basically. I've asked plenty of friends and they said they just doubled-up at nighttime. Is that a good idea?

if you wear yor rubber bands 24-7 like you are supposed to, the pain will go away. only wearing them at night will do you no good at this point. wearing your rubberbands 1/2 time will not give you 1/2 results, you see, any movement they give you while you are wearing them will relaps (meaning they will go rigjht back to where they were before) when you are not wearing them. so if you can just hang in ther for 3-4 days, the pain will go away. i know, because i work in a ortho office. and im always explaining this to my patients. and they wear the same medium heavys that you wear, and they are all doing just fine. it will get easier, i promise. just stick with it. you will do awesome! and yor dentist will notice the difference. and if you wear them correctly for a few months, your dentist wil probbly let you stop wearing them!
