Is it true that you stand a lower risk of having tooth decay if you drink coke w!
Question:
Is it true that you stand a lower risk of having tooth decay if you drink coke with a straw & why?
I heard this from somewhere & I just want to confirm it.
Answers:
It is a very, very obvious reason. When you drink without a straw the corrosive soda washes over your teeth as it goes to your tongue and down your throat. Therefore...the acid and sugar erodes your tooth enamel.
If you drink with a straw, the fluid goes onto your tongue directly and down your throat. So unless when YOU drink with a straw you swish your coke around your mouth, the contact with your tooth enamel is lessened. Therefore....less chance of decay.
Make sense now? No? Try it.
