How does it feel?
Have you ever had your wisdom teeth taken out? And if so, how bad does it hurt? How long does it take to recover? And how are the drugs??
Answers:
My impacted wisdoms were extracted surgically-- My gums were detached from the underlying bone for access and some bone drilled away to get at the jammed wisdoms. Once the teeth were out my gums were sutured back together.
All this was done under local anesthesia with just lidocaine. I was awake the whole time, and felt no pain during the procedure.
As expected after any sort of surgery, I did get soreness after the anesthetic wore off, but it was easily managed with OTC analgesics. Took about a week for the post-op swelling to go down, which is normal.
