I had a "hole" where my wisdom tooth was for about 4+ months after the extraction, that is totally normal. Everyone I've talked to says the same. its annoying but they will go away. If you think about it, bone doesn't grow overnight - it needs time to lay down and repair itself. Also, maybe the food was stuck in there for a while and started to breakdown so you didn't recognize what it was?

If it isn't something you ate, it could be an infection and bacteria growth off of food that has gotten stuck in there. If it is an infection you will probably need to irrigate your socket with a hydrogen peroxide/water solution with an irrigation device so it gets directly in there and then get on some antibiotics.

Did you take all of your antibiotics prescribed after the extraction?

Hmm, Make an emergency appointment ASAP! Your hole should be gone by now, its been a month. You may need stitches to close it up or somthing, but GO TO THE DENTIST!

if you mouth don't smell or hurt I don't think its an infection
its been a month its probably something you eat and forgot you ate something green. but if your worried go to your dentist

Well that does sound like an infection but I don't know. But it only gets worse at night so thier's always the E.R.

i'm sure you will be ok as you have an appointment on 19th---keep it clean and i dont think you will have stitches. rinse with warm salt water

it takes a long time for the hole to close, I had all 4 of mine done and the hole slowly get smaller over time, its not an over night thing, However if your getting pain in that area it could be infected and I would go back and get some meds.I had mine done last oct and i still have a small hole but it takes longer for adult to heal from it than younger adults
