How do I remove food stuck in tooth extraction site?!

Question: I have tried using salt water, but it hasn't worked so far. Is it worse to pick it out or leave it in?

You have someone else do it with tweezers....very very gently taking care not to disturb the blood clot. An extraction socket heals from the bottom up and the blood clot covers the expose raw side walls of the socket. If the blood clot comes out you will have a great deal of discomfort....You can try rinsing "VERY GENTLY"...if the food doesn't move, live with it for now, it will come out in a day or two. Having it there isn't nearly as bothersome as the pain of a dry socket.

I had this very problem a few weeks ago after having a molar removed. I used mouthwash and really swirled it around in the area of the former tooth. It usually resulted in the food coming out. But I did, once or twice, pick it out. But I would only use your fingers, not anything like a toothpick or it might get worse.

Maybe it is not food at all, but part of your gum that LOOKS like food????? Otherwise, seems like rinsing would work. If you think that it is food, and you can't get it out, then go see your dentist for the removal of the foreign body. It should not be left there.

I would try eating bread or a easy-to-eat food.. I would also recomend rinsing with poroxide, this will help heal it faster and with the swishing motion the food will more than likely come loose...Try using your finger gently to maybe ease it out of the socket.. If all else fails, it will work its way out..
