M jaw was dislocated today..?!

Question:

M jaw was dislocated today..?

I was at the orthodontist today, and while she was doing the treatment she dislocated my jaw. The other dentist had to pop it back in again.
They said that there's a risk of it dislocating again, so not to eat any hard foods for a couple of days.
i've been told that once it's happened once, it'll happen again very easily, even by just yawning. - for the rest of my life. Is this true and really likely?
do you reckon I should get legal advice to sue?

Answers:

Unless she yanked your mouth open do not seek legal advice. Some people have a shallower joint space than others, thus the head of your mandible can pop out of place easier than others. Eventually this was probably going to happen and it usually happens at a time when your mouth is open really wide. Like at the dentist or while yawning. You will be more prone to dislocation once this has happened. More prone than other people that is. They do not want this to happen again either. You may need more breaks to close and rest your jaw than other patients. Just tell them before hand you are prone to this and let them know if you need a break.
