It's so easy you'll be surprised!! I see it everyday.
It doesn't hurt when you get them on. Your teeth start moving right away which is what makes you sore. It doesn't hurt having your wire changed. They simply remove your "colors" slide the wire out and then replace it with a new one. Then they put your colors back on. I think you should be excited. Braces are amazing. As long as you make sure you never have food sitting on your teeth by brushing and flossing regularly you'll have beautiful results. And of course if your instructed to wear headgear or elastics really make sure your faithful about it. It helps speed things up when you cooperate! I can't stress enough how important brushing and flossing is.

As for your colors..

It's fun to do things for holidays, like Red white and blue for July 4th, or pink and red for valentines

And then my favorites are... (there will be alot of pink in my favorites)

Pink and Black
Turqoise and Hot pink (add purple and orange for good summer colors)

Pink and yellow
Pink and Green
Pink and maroon looks good...
Turquoise and Purple
Rainbow is a fun one

White stains very easily and so does the clear
If you want something that doesn't show up ask for grey or silver.

I don't know how many colors they'll let you pick but where I work I always do how ever many the patients want. That is the fun part you know!
Good Luck! BRUSH AND FLOSS lots's!!!
