Angular cheilitis and head cold- too many vitamins? Causes anyone?!

Question: I'm pretty sure I have angular cheilitis. I have had a sinus infection for the past 2 weeks, and I seem to be breathing out of my mouth a lot. Is it possible that slight drool is pooling in the corners of my mouth and causing this?

Also, is it typical to get this when you have a bad cold, just due to lowered immunity? I've been taking prenatal vitamins and then recently added taking 1500-2000mg Vit. C and 500mg Zinc daily to help shorten the duration of my cold. Maybe I just got too much of that.

I'm sure it's not oral herpes, it more closely resembles angular cheilitis.

Any ideas of what may have caused it?

Wow that is exactly what happened to me in January it was right when I was getting over a cold. and now last week the angular cheilits came back, and I have been reasearching and also asking questions on here, because it may be possible Im drooling at night because my nose has been congested since I been pregnant so I sleep with my mouth open, the only thing I have found to clear up the angular cheilits is athletes foot cream, someone suggested it to me and it really worked.

dont know

Put some Neosporin on it. It should clear up in a few days. Excess vitamin C can cause some people mouth and lip ulcerations.
