Wisdom teeth.. am I healing properly?!

Question:

Wisdom teeth.. am I healing properly?

I had my wisdom teeth taken out ( all 4 of them ) days ago. 2 top were pulled and 2 bottom had to be cut out. Since the surgery my stiches had dissolved and I'm just wondering what some of the warning signs I should be looking for are.

I rinse with a salt water mix everyday, 2-4 times
I brush my teeth everyday getting as far back as I can but avoiding the gum area.

I have been noticing some pain on one side more then the other, no smell or ooze though.

should I be worried?

Answers:

It sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Healing can take around 2-4 weeks until your mouth is feeling back to normal.

It is not uncommon for a patient to feel more pain in one extraction site more than another, every surgical site heals differently.

Your dentist/oral surgeon should be more than happy to visit with you, look at the surgical sites and verify everything is healing appropriately. Most doctors do not charge for that visit and it is a nice way to relieve any fears or concerns.
