What is tympanum in the ear?!

Question:

What is tympanum in the ear?

actually when my mother got a tooth picked out from lower jaw blood started coming from ear after some time

Answers:

Tympanum is called as tympanic membrane .A deviding membrane { ear drum} between outer & middle ear.Middle ear is connected to throat by eustechian tube. Now i am tryng to understand ur mother's problem that how can blood cameout from ear in case of tooth extraction. There is only one possibelity that ur mother has already perforation in ear drum before tooth extraction & blood tricles down to throat after tooth extraction & ur mother developes simultaniously cough or sneezing in try to stop these{ cough or sneez } pressure in throat rises resulting in blood goes from throat via eustachian tube to middle ear & as ear drum was already perforated it comes out to outer ear & u saw this.Don't worry thre is permanent treatment of ear drum perforation see good E.N.T specialist . If u want to check ear drum perforation at home tell ur mother to do valsavalva meanure i.e try to exhale forcefully air but keep mouth &nose close by ur hand this will creat increase pressure in throat &air will pass from eustechian tube to ear & you can listen sound of air leak frome that ear BUTtry this only when ur mother has no infection in throat as well as in ear. CONSULT UR ENT SURGEON . I am sure ur problem will be no more.
