When it comes to any type of dental procedure, there are two people who have a responsibility in dental work.

#1: The dentist has a legal and moral obligation to inform the patient of exactly what their dental condition is, what is to be done, and exactly what tooth it is.

#2: The patient has an obligation to give their informed consent before a procedure is done. Usually this is done in the form of a consent form for whatever procedure they are having done. Normally a consent form will have the exact teeth numbers on it that are to be treated. Most patients wouldn't understand the teeth numbers that dentists use, however it is a patients responsibility to ask questions before they sign a consent form. If they do not understand something on the form, they are required to ask.

I don't know if this guy had you sign a consent form or not, however he should have. If he did, and it listed the exact teeth numbers, it was your responsibility to ask exactly what teeth it was referring to.

I had a patient in the office today for an extraction, and if I had not gotten out a mirror and made him point out the exact tooth he wanted extracted, then I wouldn't have known which one he wanted out. He had 3 teeth in a row that were extremely decayed and needed to be out, so without him specifing a tooth, we wouldn't have known which one to pull.

No.

you may have a crooked tooth,no offense.

Yes, I told my dentist that my bottom tooth next to the back needed pulling, He pulled the back one!!! He said it was bad too, I think he is just trying to get more money for another extraction.
